GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: Do I need to have a certain level of proficiency in order to sign up for a workshop?
A: Please check details in individual workshop listing
Q: Are there any age requirements to sign up for a workshop?
A: You must be over the age of 16, participants that are 16 & under will be permitted only with parental supervision.
Q: How can I prepare for my workshop?
A: Make sure that you have a working computer or mobile device with a webcam and reliable internet connection. Set yourself up in a quiet environment where you'll be able to concentrate. Allow yourself a few minutes prior to the workshop start time to make any adjustments necessary, as all workshops will begin promptly at the listed start time.
 
Q: How long is the workshop going to be?
A: All of our workshops are 40 minutes long.
 
Q: How many participants will there be in the workshop?
A: Each of our workshops will have a maximum of 3 participants, not including the instructor.
 
Q: When should I expect an e-mail with the link for my workshop to arrive?
A: You should receive an e-mail with the unique link to connect to your workshop within 1 hour of purchasing.
 
Q: My workshop is in less than 24 hours and I still haven’t received a link. What should I do next?
A: Please check your e-mail spam folder and then contact customer service at support@academyworkshop.live if you still don't see anything.
 
Q: I have a friend who wants to attend the same workshop. Can we both use the same link?
A: Only one user will be permitted to access your unique link at any given time. We highly encourage each participant to purchase their own ticket, in order to uphold the quality of the workshop for all users.
Q: There are currently no available dates for the workshop that I want to attend. Will the instructor be adding more?
A: We are constantly adding new workshops and instructors, keep checking the website and follow us on social media for updates.
 
Q: I've purchased a ticket to a workshop and am no longer able to attend on that day/time. Can I reschedule?
A: Please contact customer service at  support@academyworkshop.live up to 5 business days prior to the workshop and we will do our best to accommodate you, per the instructor's availability. After 5 business days prior to the workshop, no changes can be made to your order. In the event that you need to reschedule and the workshop you purchased is no longer available, we will provide you with a credit that may be used towards other workshops on the site. No refunds will be provided for any reason, other than the instructor canceling.
Q: What if I’m running late on the day of my workshop?
A: No refunds will be provided for any reason, other than the instructor canceling. This includes logging in late or needing to log off early for any reason. Please be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to get set up!
Q: What if I forget about my workshop and miss it completely?
A: No refunds will be provided for any reason, other than the instructor canceling. Please be sure to make note of the date and time of your workshop in your Filofax, Google calendar or however you keep track of appointments!
Q: Are workshops available in languages other than English?
A: Unfortunately, we are only able to provide workshops in English at this time.
 
Q: Can I purchase a workshop as a gift for someone else?
A: Yes! You will receive a unique link to connect to the workshop at the e-mail address you provided at checkout, no later than 24 hours prior to the listed start time of the workshop. You can then forward the link to the person for whom you have purchased the gift. Please be aware that only one user will be permitted to access your unique link at any given time. Make sure that the recipient of your gift is the only person with access to that link.

MUSIC WORKSHOP QUESTIONS

Q: What equipment do you recommend for guitar workshops?
A: We recommend either an acoustic or electric guitar. If you plan to use an electric guitar, it will need to be plugged into an amplifier to ensure that the instructor can hear it.
 
Q: What equipment do you recommend for drum workshops?
A: We recommend either a traditional drum set or a drum pad.
 
Q: I don’t own any instruments. Can I still attend a guitar or drum workshop?
A: Yes! We welcome all spectators, including those who would prefer to just discuss techniques with the instructor.
Q: Can I request an instructor to teach me a specific song or technique?
A: Please include any requests in the notes section at checkout and your request will be submitted to the instructor. We are unable to make any guarantees about specific songs, as the content of the workshop is solely at the discretion of the instructor and it may be difficult to accommodate everyone. Another option would be to request a private workshop with the instructor, if you already have more specific questions for that person in mind - please contact us at  support@academyworkshop.live for additional info. 
Q: What type of requirements are there for my computer and internet?
A.  For optimal streaming quality, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer with the following minimum requirements:

Operating system:

Mac: Sierra 10.12.6 or later

Windows: Windows 8 or later

Internet speed: 5MBPS upload speed and 10 MBPS download speed 

Browser: We recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Please update to the latest version available before starting a lesson.
